Quality Comprehensive Health Center ( formerly Quality Home Care Services, Inc.) is a not-for-profit agency formed in March 2005 that provides high quality, client-centered prevention and intervention services to help clients and their families learn to help themselves. The corporate office is located on Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has several locations throughout Mecklenburg county. The Agency provides services to Mecklenburg, Gaston, Iredell, Union, Anson and Cabarrus counties.
Established in 2005, Quality Home Care Services, Inc. (QHCS) provided integrated care services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS as well as those in need of personal care services. The agency is located in Charlotte, NC convenient to areas where some of the region’s most vulnerable populations reside. QHCS has a diverse Board of Trustees which guides the agency and an experienced staff delivering services. Since its inception, the board and staff have remained committed to their agenda – Quality Care for clients and their families.
QHCS began as a Medicaid agency but immediately began servicing the uninsured. To effectively meet the evolving needs of our non-Medicaid consumers, QHCS established the Hope is Vital Home Care program. The individuals targeted to receive these services were those who did not benefit from Medicaid, Medicare, or other insurance. QHCS quickly expanded its palate of services. The growing number of new HIV/AIDS cases in Mecklenburg County generated a growth spurt within QHCS. New programming was developed in response to community needs. QHCS was one of two agencies able to provide CAP/AIDS program services in Mecklenburg County. Although this vital program was short lived, due to funding cuts, it increased client awareness of the agency. QHCS’ HIV services include medical case management, linkage to care services, and support groups. The agency is also accredited by The Joint Commission for Behavioral Healthcare and is the first HIV case management in the region to achieve this accreditation.
The agency’s HIV prevention services include HIV counseling, testing and referral and several HIV prevention interventions that specifically target MSM of color and African American women who are among the fastest growing population acquiring HIV in our region.(Include more information)
Simultaneously, QHCS grew its mental health services program. The agency began providing Outpatient Mental Health Services and Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment Services. These services continue to be one of the most pressing needs of our client population. The name of the program is Safe Harbor Behavioral Health Services. The agency also begin serving infant /toddlers population by providing Community- Based Rehabilitative services (CBRS) in the Iredell, Cabarrus and Rowan Counties.
Additionally, the agency was awarded Ryan White Part III federal funds in 2014 through Health Resources Service Administration (HRSA) to provide primary health care to individuals. living with HIV/AIDS. The agency expanded care to provide services for individuals with other chronic disease in 2015.
